The Best Times Of My Life | My Family Travels

I went to Duluth with my sister and our friend Joey in 2009. We went on our annual camping trip that we take during the summer. When we arrived at our camp site (Fond Du Lac) after the four hour drive, we began to set up the tent. Then we went to drive into Duluth to explore our beloved city. There's always a different atmosphere up there and it's so much fun. I am never in a bad mood when I'm in Duluth because it is one of my favorite places to travel to. It is so beautiful and alive there. Some of my greatest memories happened there, like when I swam in Lake Superior, or just driving around and singing with my family.

Going to Duluth also gives me an opportunity to explore my hobby of photography. There are so many amazing areas around to take pictures of. There is the lift bridge in Canal Park, Lake Superior, and a waterfall in a secluded walking path near Duluth. I always come home with hundreds of new photos to show everyone from our trip.

We usually spend our time driving around, and as weird as it sounds, talking to random people from our car windows. It is so much fun and causes so much laughter! Joey, my sister, and I like to play games to see who can get the most people to talk to us or wave. We also sit in Canal Park and watch all of the tourists pass us by. We end our days sitting at our campsite around a bright and warm fire, revisiting the days events and laughing. We also go out to a restaurant for dinner, usually Old Chicago. During this trip though we went to the Green Mill. It had just stopped raining, but everything was already dry so we had our meal in the outside dining area. It was so fun to sit and enjoy our food and watch people walk around downtown Duluth. I really enjoyed that night because it was so much fun.

I’m always so sad when we leave because I know it will be a while before we can go back. We weren’t able to make it to Duluth last year because my sister was having serious problems with her liver. Hopefully this summer we will be able to make it up to Duluth. I get so excited and happy when we go up north because we always make the most of our time there. We always do fun things like exploring the area, playing on the giant playground near Canal Park, or shopping in the stores alone the steep Duluth streets. It is my favorite place and I cherish every vacation we spend there.
