Life can get busy for both teens and parents. It’s important to take time away from work and school to spend time together as a family. The Don CeSar Beach Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida is the perfect place to do just that. The Beach Experience
We arrive at the hotel early Friday afternoon. The junior suite we had reserved was not ready by check-in time, but the Don CeSar staff was quick to find us an upgraded room free of charge. Our room was on the third story with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Once we got settled, we spent the day soaking up the sun, swimming in the pools, taking walks on the beach, and enjoying tropical treats from the Sunsets Bar. Then, we ate dinner at the beach-side Sea Porch Café. We went up to our room and relaxed in the comfortable beds with 100% cotton linens and watched a movie before we went to sleep.
I woke up in the morning to watch the sunrise off the balcony and have a cup of cappuccino delivered right to my door by room service. When the entire family was awake, we went to have a buffet breakfast at the Sea Porch Café. Then, while my dad and sisters went back down to the deck to enjoy some more time at the beach, my mom and I headed to Spa Oceana to get manicures, pedicures, and facials. This spa offers many different treatment options, including massages, body treatments, and nail and hair care, at reasonable prices that are perfect for individuals, couples, and mothers and daughters.
Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo
On our way home, we made a stop at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, which has been voted the Best Zoo in the United States by Parents’ Magazine. We visited countless animals throughout the 56 acres of habitat areas. My favorite exhibit is the orangutan display in the Asian Gardens. This zoo offers events and programs for all ages, from pre-school through adulthood. Being able to see animals up-close during the shows was one of the highlights of my trip. Every time my family takes a trip to St. Pete Beach, I remember how important it is to have a strong relationship with your family.
