Disney is a magical place some say, also a place where even a grownup turns into a child. Well for me it was a place for memories to be build and remembered. In 2011 spring break, my family and I took a vacation to Orlando, Florida. We spent about a week or so there going to Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom in Disney World, as well as, Universal Studios Orlando, and Seaworld. This was a fun but tiring vacation, and most importantly a vacation filled with memories.

It all started at the airport, we took a flight from Philadelphia to Orlando. It was rainy night when we took the flight, but with hope to find great sunny days head. It felt like a roller coaster on the flight because of the air turbulence. At one point the plane took this quick drop and scared everyone on the plane, fortunately, the plane recovered and we reached one of the many Orlando Hotels safely. I remember that night on the plane looking out the window and seeing lighting from the sky the horizon.

Our first day in Orlando was in Universal Studios. At first when we enter the amusement park, I felt scared because I had never been on such big roller coasters. I remember my younger brother who was trying to the brave one in the family and went on the roller coaster called the Dragon Challenge in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. However, that was the worst mistake my brother made; the whole day he didn’t ride any other roller coaster. Although, that was an interesting part of the day, I think the best part for me in Universal was when I went on the Jurassic Park River Adventure by myself. During the ride, it was all calm in the beginning, but then it got scary and suddenly in the end, a T-rex came out nowhere and then the coaster dropped 85 feet down in total darkness into water. After that, I was soaking wet for the whole day.

The second day we went to the Magic Kingdom in Disney Land. There I felt like I was a kid again with all the princesses for different fairy tales and of course Mickey and Minnie. We spend about a half a day in the park filled with laughter and memories. The Magic Kingdom was really the best because I got the chance to get over the fears of roller coasters that day. The rides were perfect not scary but some still thrilling. Finally, the day ended with the firework show.

The third at Seaworld was a bit more relaxing. We got to see many shows and performances with the different sea creatures. The highlight of Seaworld would be the One Ocean show with Shamu. With our luck, we got the best seats in the house, that’s what we thought until the end when Shamu started splashing water at the audience and we all got soaked. The last day was at the Animal Kingdom in Disney Land. Animal Kingdom reminded me of the four years I lived in Nairobi, Kenya. While going on the Safari I remembered all the differ Safaris my family and I took back in Kenya.

Over all this whole vacation was filled with different memories and moments. Looking back it was a great trip with fun family time. With all of our busy schedules, this vacation gave us the chance to relax. This vacation gave us the realization that in the hustle and bustle of life we need to take a time out sometimes.
