The dreams of many teenagers consist of being independent, being successful, having fun and finding the purpose for life. San Francisco, California is just the place for that. Through the numerous museums, colleges, stores, beaches, and even forest like atmospheres, this is the perfect place to let loose and run free. From the moment the sun rises, to the moment the sun sets; opportunities are both endless and limitless. Whether traveling alone, or in a group there is always something new, and different to explore. With the atmosphere of bleeding traditions, open-hearted people, and varying foods, nothing gets boring in this city.
By traveling with NSLC (National Student Leadership Conference) this past summer, San Francisco really opened my heart and mind to discovering different ways to develop myself as a person and even more importantly, as a teenager in route to soon becoming an adult. With lungs blue and gold, UC Berkeley really instilled in me how important it is to remain true to yourself through everything you go through, and to never give up on your dreams no matter how far of a stretch they may seem to be. Along with this, a new life motto has been engraved in my heart: If someone has to do it, why not me? I am perfectly capable of achieving whatever it is I set my mind to, and through this experience alone I have acquired the knowledge needed in order to reach my full potential. With hearts of blue and gold, one may be asked; Why San Francisco? Why California? Why UC Berkeley?
The only sufficient answer being, these are the places love flows freely, lives are changed, and people are discovered. There is no place like San Francisco California anywhere on Earth. The opportunities presented here are once in a lifetime. From the moment I arrived at UC Berkeley, and until the moment I take my last breath, I will always remember my experience being a bear, and developing myself for the better of my future.
