My inspirational trip - My Family Travels

I was looking over the edge at a beautiful sunset, wondering what’s going on in the minds of these people.  My mind was racing, trying to figure out how a place so exquisite and impeccable on television is the complete opposite in reality.  Obviously nothing is what it really seems and deserves a closer look.  The ways of them was as though we were living in two different worlds, with two different aspects of life.  They didn’t live the way we lived; to them the way to live was day by day, barely making it. Anything was a job to them as long as they were able to feed their families for the next couple of days.  They would stand on the streets for hours, aspiring for something better, something different, an inexperienced way of living.

Seeing their way of living made me think about the children in the commercials. The places that were named in them were portrayed in other areas of television as being a divine vacation spot, but in reality it’s a living hell hole. It’s a torturous place to live in.  The conditions are unbearable. The smell is unnatural.  The view is dreadful.  Visiting the Bahamas changed my life. It made me more grateful for the smaller things, for example, being able to afford a house, as well as, being able to wear nice clothing. It also made me want to change the future. This trip to the Bahamas inspired me to become something more than a eight digit number to society. This is our, my generation, time to shine. It is our time to make a difference in different parts of the world and all starts with me.

My generation reflects my trip to the Bahamas; it is bound to end up like this devastating theory of life in a monstrous society. This trip had an affect on me and caused me to want to change my generation. This trip made me think of Michael Jackson’s song “Man in the Mirror”, because if I want to make a difference it starts with me. It’s a chain reaction starting with myself, and ending with the world.
