Impromptu Vacation to “Pacific Wonderland”

 Have you ever felt like you didn't know how to take advantage of the time you were given for vacation? Well for sure that has happened to me I was spending time with my pop in Wasington and i had asked if we could go on a roadtrip to a nearby state so we decided to head down south to Oregon; we planned to leave at a decent that would allow us to arrive in Oregon while it was still daylight. But before we left we didn't know where our final destination would be on our first day. So we made sure to keep a map by our side and a tank full of gas incase we couldn't find any local gas stations. We had also packed food and water for the road if too much time were to pass before we found a place to stay.                                       

  Our first stop was in Astoria, Oregon at the Astoria column which displays 14 scenes on the exterior commemorating historical events that had taken place there. And on the interior of the column there is a 164-step spiral staircase that visitors and tourists can climb until they reach the platform at the top where they can observe and breathe in Oregon's beauty.After we stopped in Astoria we went to a visitor's center to pick a map of Oregon since the one we had was of Washington and covered the northern region of Oregon. While there the visitor's center seemed as if it were a symbol of the 25th anniversary of a movie titled "The Goonies". It turned out that this popular adventure '80s movie was filmed mostly in Astoria,Oregon.

  About one stop and a talk away from our final destination we went for a tour  in Seaside, which is like a little villa, and went to the beach. The beach showed it's beauty full of clear water  and small pathways in the sand through which the water flowed. Once back on the road we were looking for a place to stay. On our  scavenger hunt  I saw a sign maked with the words "Lewis and Clark trails". If one would like he/she could walk or hike on these trails as long as he/she had a map to get there. It is recommended, if possible, to find a map of the trails so one could find the way back or to wherever he/she wants to go. 

  Surprisingly enough Seaside and Cannon Beach are located fairly close to each other. That was good news for us because we found a motel right next to Cannon Beach. Land's End Motel has rooms available with beachfront views and patios;across from the motel there is the Cannon Beach Bakery and other food places such as Fultano's Pizza. 

  While on vacation in a different city, state or country, it's best to take advantage of the time one has to explore as much as possible before it's time to depart. This lesson had taught me that not everything one may want to do in a day or week can't be done. But getting up a couple hours earlier or taking off even the smallest amount of time from work would lead to enjoyment and appreciation hopefully for a satisfying vacation.
