Sugar Land, the name speaks for its self. Not only is this city as sweet as it sounds, but the people that live there are not too shabby either. Sugar Land is located in the Beautiful State of Texas and offers so much to the tourists that visit this area. I know what you are thinking, “Oh we can’t go there. Texas is too hot!”, but wait! Sugar Land offers a fantastic array of air-conditioned choices. If you are really in the mood to be cool, try ice-skating at the Sugar Land Ice and Sports Center for a birthday getaway, Romantic Date, or even just a fun day for the family. Now if that’s not for you then right across the street is First Colony Mall. On a girls getaway? The First Colony Mall will be perfect for your vacation. This mall offers a variety of stores such as Macy’s, JcPenny, Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, and much, much more.

Once you are done shopping the day away, you will most likely be tired, so just take a short stroll to the mall’s food court and choose the food that interests you. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Not looking for a quick bite? Only a few minutes away are many more “upscale” restaurants like BJ’s, Cheesecake Factory, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, and Red Lobster. Looking for a dinner of a more worldly taste? Try Taisho Japanese Grill and bar located in the Sugar Land Town Center or for a more healthy approach try Salata also located in Sugar Land

Town Center. Are you a sports lover? Check out the brand new Constellation field, home of the Sugar Land Skeeters Baseball Team. This is one of the number one attractions in Sugar Land because of its child and family friendly atmosphere. Enjoy a Pro- Baseball game or just a fun day for the kids in the playground.

Maybe you are looking for something more artsy and creative. Some of the creative places are Painting with a Twist which is a fun, adult art class where you can enjoy a glass of wine while you learn to paint a beautiful master piece. Another creative place to visit is the Glazery Art and Fun which is another kid friendly place where you and/or your child can choose a ceramic piece and paint it the way you want. Be creative and show your personality through your artwork. After you finish the employees at the Glazery Art and Fun will Glaze your Piece for you and make your artwork permanent. If Observing nature is an important part of your vacation – Sugar Land has plenty of parks to choose from. Oyster Creek Park is great for outdoor activities, pictures, pets, and exercise. The park is accommodated with trails and large fields for games of soccer, football, etc. Another great part of this park is that during a walk on the trail you pass Lost Creek Park, which is a super kid-friendly park with several playgrounds and many soccer fields for fun in the sun.

Now don’t think I forgot about needing to sleep. Right in the heart of Sugar Land is the Sugar Land Marriott Hotel, which is a beautiful hotel, located in the Sugar Land Town Center! This hotel is perfect, just an easy walk to many restaurants and stores for shopping. Don’t want to be so close to everything? Try the Hilton Garden Inn which features a huge swimming pool for those hot Texas days. Wanting a sweet vacation? Now you know how sweet your vacation to Sugar Land will be! Have fun!
